About Me

I am a Psychotherapist with a background in Career Guidance Counselling. Both professions have allowed me to make real connections with people and bear witness to the pain, anxiety, stress and deep hurt that we all experience, for periods, as we journey through life.  I count myself lucky that I have spent my career truly embracing the uniqueness of the individual and cherishing my relationship with each and every client.  Having worked for almost 20 years in the field of Counselling & Psychotherapy, the courage of the adults and adolescents in crisis I have met has inspired my ongoing personal and professional development in this very privileged and relational work.

I have completed five years of post graduate study in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy including a Masters from DCU & Turning Point Institute. I am a fully accredited member the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) which is under the umbrella of the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP)I have also completed a post graduate qualification in Career Guidance & Counselling with UCC and am a member of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC)

Workshops & Publications

Living by the sea on Ireland's 'Wild Atlantic Way', my awareness of the therapeutic value of nature in terms of my own psychological process inspired me to explore the role Nature can play in Psychotherapy through my Master's thesis. I presented my findings at the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) 2016 Conference and also facilitated a workshop on the topic at an International Psychotherapy Conference at the Eden Project in the UK in November 2016.  Additionally, I regularly facilitate Mindfulness and Mental Health & Wellbeing workshops for both businesses and schools in the Limerick and Clare region.
